How Can I Improve My Home’s Air Quality?

Our home’s environment can dictate the quality of our air. We consciously focus avoiding things that can aggravate our sinuses like smoke, pollen, dust, etc. Exposure to those things could make you sick. How often do you think about the environment that you spend most of your time in? Your home!

If the environment of a home is not kept at optimal levels it can allow for allergens, toxins, dander, and mold to feed and grow. This can lead to many symptoms such as sinus infections, headaches, fatigue, and in some causes the neurotoxins released from molds can cause ADHD, memory loss, tremors, and in rare cases it has associated with some types of cancer.

As you can see it is super important that the environment within the home be kept as safe and clean as possible. This can be done by using an air filters in the cold air returns of the HVAC unit. This will keep things such as mold from entering the HVAC system and growing and spreading throughout the house. We recommend our customers purchase a MERV 8 to 13 air filters.

More importantly than filtering the air, is keeping the air clean before it ever enters the HVAC. This is done by controlling the environment inside of the home with temperature and humidity. To keep the home’s air as healthy as possible the temperature should be kept at 75º F and the humidity under 50%. If the environment of the home is kept at this than any mold spore that come inside will die and not be able to spread through the house. Keeping you and your family as safe as possible!
